I'm Christian, your guide on this odyssey of self discovery and transformation. As the world gets increasingly more bizarre, tragic, and confusing, I'll do my best to orient to True North.

The mission of True North Project is to create liberating structures for a more beautiful world.

Sense-Making

As our world gets increasingly more tragic and bizarre, sense-making is becoming increasing difficult. Our shared stories are fracturing into echo chambers and reality tunnels, as we fall hopelessly down rabbit holes into a post-truth information labyrinth.

This publication is my attempt at “making sense” of this wild terrain we find ourselves in. But of course, reason is a collective project.

Soul-Searching

With the collapse of faith in religions (meaning 1.0) and in secular institutions (meaning 2.0), we face a vacuum of meaning — or a meaning crisis.

Nietzsche’s decree “God is Dead!” has become painfully true, as we now worship at the feet of our new “gods” of materialism, consumerism, and individualism.

This publication is my attempt to share what I have discovered from my ongoing soul-sojourn through the existential darkness of the screaming abyss.

Storytelling

Storytelling is the base layer operating system of humanity. For thousands of generations we exchanged perspectives and wisdom around the proverbial fire.

In the distant mists of pre-history, language became the substrate of human culture and storytelling became the medium of intergenerational knowledge transmission.

Our primordial orientation towards story sets us apart in the animal kingdom, affording our species the privilege (and responsibility) of accelerating our own evolution.

The myths, memes, and metaphors we employ in our culture bind us together, orient our behavior, and thus impact our environment.

This publication is hospice-ing the old story that is collapsing and midwifing the new story emerging. And of course, having some laughs along the way.
